Emerald Guitars

In Guitars by jtkung

I’ve heard a lot of carbon fibre guitars and haven’t been impressed with their overall feel and sound. They have a certain appeal to the modern guitarist, however. Not just due to the fantastic material properties, but also because it’s a synthetic man-made material that helps the sustainability of woods as an alternative guitar material

There are two issues I’ve seen with carbon fibre guitars:

  • sterile sound
  • expensive

However, you don’t see these issues with Emerald Guitars (http://emeraldguitars.com). Alistair Hay is the founder. These guitars are beautifully crafted with wood accents and are quite affordable for what they are. I also really like the model options — from 6 strings to double-necks to harp guitars and custom options in between. Very few makers if any have this kind of range. And the body styles are beautifully styled.
