Benoit has been showcased here before, but his work is so impressive and exceptional that it is hard to ignore when a new guitar comes out! Shown here is #192 with German spruce top and Indian Rosewood back, sides, and throughout. His signature body shape, sound holes, and innovative neck attachment are all on display here. There’s a custom Ezi pickup made with the same rosewoods used in the guitar along with a Barbera piezo system. Hence the 4 controls hidden in the pickguard (2 vol, 2 tone).

If you look close, there’s a cool 12th fret inlay of a Fibonacci spiral which symbolizes the close relationship of mathematics and nature when it comes to beauty and aesthetics.

Benoit utilizes not only old world craftsmanship and techniques, but also scientific methods to analyze and optimize the guitar (as evidenced in this document). Very few luthiers combine the ideas of old and new, empirical experiments with science in such a way to create something that is beautiful to behold to the eye and ear. The results speak for themselves.
