Sakashta Noupaul

The Sakashta Noupaul is by no means a typical modern electric guitar. But it adds to the traditional Les Paul base with some nice features which bring the venerable Les Paul into the 21st century.   The integrated, natural-wood pickguard, alternate-wood, beveled side rim and cutaway, and semi-circular tailpiece make this the guitar of choice for Robben Ford and all those who wish for an updated Les Paul without the robotuners or crazy signatures you get from Gibson these days.

Sadly, these are rare and mostly unavailable. I’ve seen a copy of it made by Matt Artinger, but it remains to be seen whether that copy was a one-off. Hopefully Sakashta’s estate was duly compensated.

The week of Jan 25, 2016, a Sakashta Noupaul was available from CR Guitars.  Made in 2009 and in mint condition, the selling price was $39,950 USD. As of 2/1/2016, someone had bought it, but the owner and price are yet unknown.
